The Arizona Game and Fish Department offers a number of educational courses throughout the year to train hunters on firearm safety, proper conduct and hunting ethics, and wildlife management, for both small and big game. In addition, participants study the nomenclature of guns and bows, and learn how to survive in wild terrain. Online and in-person classes, as well as field days are available for individuals as young as 9. For students unable to find a course in their area, the department maintains a waiting list.
In January 2014, the Arizona Game and Fish Department revised its licensing and fee outlines for general and combination hunting and fishing. For more information on obtaining a license or to register for a training course, please visit www.azgfd.gov.
