Phoenix Suns Charities was created in 1998 to raise money for organizations that help underserved children and families in Arizona. The program has grown steadily over the years, and it now sends over a million dollars to hundreds of local charities annually. Phoenix Suns Charities holds numerous events during the NBA season, including fundraisers, auctions, and sales of items such as special Phoenix Suns license plates. Suns fans also donate regularly throughout the year, pledging money to the organization.
Fundraisers are a popular, interactive way for the organization to raise money. Events include Jump Ball, which features auctions, dancing, dinner, and meetings with Suns players, coaches, and affiliates. The 2015 Jump Ball will take place on Friday, February 27, at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Resort.
